About Me

I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan and am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I work with children, families, and adults using a blend of therapeutic approaches to best meet your individual needs. I have a client centered and strengths based perspective which means I believe, as the client, YOU are the expert for what your strengths and needs are. I will help you develop goals early in treatment and then tailor my interventions based on your needs and using your strengths to help you succeed. My specialty is working with children under the age of 10 utilizing play therapy techniques to enhance expressing emotions as well as utilizing art as a median to teach skills. I see significance in incorporating family in the therapeutic process in order to create change in their overall environment. With adults, I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to help clients gain insight and new perspectives around their thoughts and behaviors while teaching skills to solve problems, manage emotions, and develop healthier relationships. I have extensive experience in trauma, which includes domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. Clients who suffer from this can work in collaboration with me to process the events and emotions they feel and learn to gain back control of their lives. I provide a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment while supporting and listening to you and your needs. It is my genuine desire to help my clients learn to help themselves so they can move forward with their lives in a way that makes sense to them.
